On February 24, 2017 all of La Familia staff and board members were invited to a special Staff Appreciation Event. The event was held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline Center, more than 75 staff attended the superhero themed event.
The staff at La Familia work hard every day to ensure that the community members, who receive our services, are getting everything they can from their experience with La Familia.
These staff members are the face of our organization to the adults, youth, children, and families who participate in one or more of our various programs. It seemed only fitting that we celebrate their dedication with a sense of fun and joy.
Representatives from all five service departments and all programs were present. As staff members arrived, they received raffle tickets through which they were able to win prizes ranging in value from $25 all the way up to more than $300! Prizes were both provided by the directors of La Familia and some local community supporters.
Staff also engaged in some fun, competitive activities allowing them to get to know other La Familia staff members in other departments and programs. We also had a lunch of heavy appetizers, along with delicious gelato donated by The Latest Scoop, who also donated one of our raffle prizes (a tour and special tub of gelato for the winner). Another generous donated raffle prize was from our IT consulting firm, SeekZen Systems, a very nice bottle of Don Julio tequila.
Staff also enjoyed a photo booth from Snappy Shots who provided their services at a special rate in consideration of our community work.
We hope that all of our staff are appreciated and know how important their work is to the success of La Familia.
