The Multicultural Psychotherapy Training Institute (MPTI) provides high-quality clinical training for graduate students seeking their Master’s or Doctoral degree in a mental health discipline.
Trainees will, under the supervision of Training Director Renea Lynn, Psy.D., provide therapy and other mental health services in most of our behavioral health programs - including with adult, children and families, and for substance use treatment.
Trainees are placed in one of our direct service programs that provides psychotherapy. The list of program placements available - along with any special requirements can be found here.
Trainees will receive weekly individual and group supervision as well as opportunities to receive training in a variety of therapeutic modalities. More about our supervision practices can be found here.

The MPTI can support interns seeking both full-time and part-time clinical placements.

The training year begins in August and ends in June each year.

La Familia’s Training Program was established in 1993 and evolved to include Master’s students, Doctoral practicum trainees, and Doctoral students seeking both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training. Many of our current management staff got their start at La Familia in the MPTI – including our CPO, Carolynn Langsdale, Psy.D.
