La Familia is engaged in coalition work to support the communities we serve by collaborating closely with other nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, schools, and community groups. In this way, La Familia’s reach goes beyond just the programs we provide to make a greater impact in serving community members.

Ashland Cherryland Together (ACT)

Ashland Cherryland Together (ACT) is a community coalition that has served the Ashland and Cherryland communities of unincorporated Alameda County since 2008. ACT evolved from the Ashland Cherryland Healthy Communities Collaborative (ACHCC) as an initiative to address alcohol, tobacco, and other substance abuse problems, with the main objective of reducing violence in the community. As a Drug-Free Communities Support Program grantee, Ashland Cherryland Together is dedicated to reducing substance use and misuse by educating youth, empowering stakeholders, mobilizing the community, and shaping environmental policies.

Partners of the coalition include Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and Supervisor Nate Miley’s Office. La Familia provides staffing support and fiscal administration services to support the Ashland Cherryland Together coalition.
