Charles Flores, Ph.D.
Director of Recovery and Wellness Services
supervises and trains in the Outpatient, Inpatient, Adolescent, and Transition to Treatment Substance Use Disorder Programs. A California licensed and nationally certified psychotherapist (LPC 170, CCMHC), he is also a state and internationally certified advanced drug and alcohol counselor (LAADAC 0520315 and MAC 77845) who has practiced in multiple settings in the field of co-occurring disorders for over 20 years. Originally hailing from the South Bronx, Dr. Flores obtained his MS in Counseling Psychology at Fordham University and gained additional training and certifications in Family Counseling in Iona College, the Ackerman Institute, Gestalt Associates, Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science, Sophia University, and his Ph.D. at the California Institute of Integral Studies in multicultural, humanistic, and spiritual psychology. Dr. Flores is a Board of Director of the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals, a professor of chemical dependency studies at California State University, East Bay, and has taught psychology in other universities. He is excited to be at La Familia to help families achieve a successful recovery from addictions, and have meaningful and fulfilling lives.
