One of our valued employees, Karen Norell, was honored at the 39th Annual Hayward Volunteer Recognition and Awards Dinner. Karen has been with La Familia for almost two decades of dedicated service, having played many roles during her tenure and always providing tremendous value and commitment to the mission of La Familia and its service to families.

This award came with recognition by Richard Valle on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, United States Congressman Eric Swalwell, and California State Senator Robert Wieckowski.

In addition to her work at La Familia as an employee, Karen has spent her time consistently and diligently serving her community by Chairing the South Hayward Neighborhood Collaborative and volunteering with the Alameda County Human Relations Commission and the South Hayward Parish Winter Shelter.
